Incredible Watch Design: The Rotolog

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

The Rotolog watch may be one of the coolest watch designs I have ever seen. If I wasn’t so Time Tag dependent and generally frugal about things of this nature, I might be tempted to get one.

Why I Won’t ‘Tag’ Any of My Content

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

I’ve generally thought that ‘tagging’ my content was a ridiculous idea, so I suppose it’s time I explain why.
Technorati describes tags as “the real-time web, organized by you”. Why is it my responsibility to improve your search engine? People should add to the web whatever comes natural to them and not have to [...]

Bamboo For Your Hair

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

With Bamboo being the ‘it’ material among designers and the eco-conscious, I figured I should point out my favorite hair goop for a few years running now. Kusco-Murphy Beach Hair give you a pretty similar texture to actually having been at the beach, but it gives you the texture of a little sand without [...]

The Accord Hybrid Sucks, Only Saves Two Miles a Gallon

Monday, July 25th, 2005

Well, it would seem the Accord Hybrid does a crap job of being fuel efficient. From The New York Times:

The 2005 Honda Accord hybrid gets about the same miles per gallon as the basic four-cylinder model, according to a review by Consumer Reports, a car-buyer’s guide, and it saves only about two miles a [...]

Grant Theft Auto Scandal Lesson:
Violence is Tolerable
Consensual Sex is Not

Friday, July 22nd, 2005

What lesson have we learned from the current Grand Theft Auto scandal? Beheading someone and then kicking their head down the street is permissible, but if you’re going to have consensual sex, well, then we need to have some congressional hearings. If we were talking about a book that had a sex scene [...]

Commodore 64 Mashup Game Art

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

Some fantastic commodore 64 game mashup art has popped up on the net. This is great stuff and adds nicely to the confusion about what exactly is art as well as how I frame and hang one of these pieces on my wall.

Brendan Monroe’s Sour Crop

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

I’m thrilled to see Brendan Monroe’s Sour Crop has entered the third dimension. I’ve been picking up his little comics down at Schmancy in Seattle which are usually only a dollar or two each, but these Sour Crop sculptures are just amazing. I would love to have one of these in my apartment [...]

Seattle in the New York Times Travel Section

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

The New York Times did a travel write-up on Seattle and kept the recommendations largely in the city itself. They point out a lot of good stuff, including one of my favorites, Theater Schmeater.

Crazy Prediction: People Will Buy Videogame Consoles to Play Videogames

Monday, July 18th, 2005

I’m going to go out on a limb here and make a wild and crazy pediction: people will buy video game console to play videogames. Despite any attempt by Sony or Microsoft to cast videogame machines as much more than videogame machines, you and everyone you know will continue to use them as videogame [...]

The Space Needle at about 10 pm

Sunday, July 17th, 2005

Two things strike me as strange with the above picture.

My rent seems way too cheap for a view such as this.
I’ll never get used to having this much light left at 10 pm.
