Jon Stewart is a Mensch (Maybe?)
Update: A commenter below prompted me to take a second look at this story. It would seem the original story has been retracted, and there isn’t even proof that he paid his producers during the strike. It’s hard to tell what happened here.
Just when you think Jon Stewart can’t get any cooler, he pledges to pay his writing staff during the strike.
In a show of solidarity with his fellow scribes, the Daily Show host has told his writing staff that he will cover all their salaries for the next two weeks, according to a well-placed source. He has also vowed to do the same for writers on The Colbert Report.
Hopefully the strike will find a quick conclusion and a reasonable agreement will be found over future royalties for downloadable content.
