Obvious Diversion

Jim Allchin, group vice president, Microsoft in an interview with News.com:

“Safety and security is the overriding feature that most people will want to have Windows Vista for. Even if they are not into home entertainment or in any of the specialty areas, they are just going to feel safer and more secure by using it.”

Translation:

Seeing as how we did such a crap job with the version of Windows you already paid us good money for, how about giving us even more money so that you can “feel safer”*.

*Final version of Windows Vista may or may not actually be safe to use.
