It’s Far Cheaper to Save the World Than it is to Shoot at it
The U.S. government spends $200 Billion a year on the Iraq War and has thus far spent 1.2 Trillion dollars. You don’t have a real sense of how many oranges you could buy for that apple till someone puts it in terms that make it all too clear. The NY Times did just that.

Be sure to check out the entire article and chart for some startling realities like the fact that immunizing the world’s children would only cost a fraction of all those bombs that get dropped. I dare say, it’s much more economical to save the world that it is to shoot at it.

I’m printing the NY Times article for my mother to read. She will be shocked.
Bush’s new “plan” for health care only matters to people who are already getting health care (by turning health care into taxable income then giving tax credits!). Again those without health insurance are being left out in the cold. What’s the point in offering more to people who already have coverage when there are so many people in this country who have nothing?! Bush sucks, man.
