Engadget Joystiq Mar Their E3 Coverage
Vladimir Cole over at Engadget / Joystiq got a “big scoop” by finding out that the prototype Nintendo showed doesn’t even have a working disc drive. Despite the fact that he uses the word “prototype” he seems only somewhat aware of what it may mean. I could cut a controller design out of foam, paint it silver and call it a prototype. To make matters more dramatic, he then goes on to ruminate on how this may be an indicator of how undeveloped Nintendo’s console may be at this point.
What a hilarious non-story and a waste of everyone’s time. I don’t know how the guys at Engadget and Joystiq are more concerned about what this means and less concerned about what it means that all the Xbox demos are running on Apple Powermac G5 towers instead of prototype hardware. It’s unfortunate to see them mar what has otherwise been decent E3 coverage.
