Obvious Diversion

As Seattle struggles with it’s monorail financing, Japan is testing out a train that currently goes 360km an hour and it’s set to open 2011. That’s 233mph for you non-metric types. That’s right, it’s radically faster than your car and it doesn’t leave anyone choking on exhaust fumes. In case you’re wondering, the “ears” on it are to help it rapidly slow down in the event of an earthquake. Japan manages to make the safety features of their trains cute. We can’t seem to manage to build one decent train system in the first place.
