Candela Gets Greener With 2005 Model

A couple of years ago in New York I saw an advert for Candela and immediate fell in love. A rechargeable completely sealed LED-based lamp that looked good and wouldn’t set my cats on fire. What more could I ask for? Well, an intuitive UI. Pick Candela up and the light turns on. Set Candela back in it’s base and it turns off and recharges. Designing something more intuitive than the time tested switch is quite a feat.
It looks like the good people at Vessel have improved the original design to make them a little more environmentally friendly. Instead of having to recycle the entire lamp when the battery no longer holds a reasonable charge, you can simply replace a pop-out battery. I should note though that I have had mine a number of years and am still happy with the performance I get.
If you are unhappy with the charge on your old candelas though, Vessel will let you buy the new 2005 Candela model at 25% off and will completely recycle your old ones. It’s no wonder I have two of their designs in my house (Candela obviously and the fusionware cutting tray) and one on order (the tempo time tag).
