Correction:
Classic Nintendo Games Not Free

Remember in my post about how classic Nintendo games would be free that I thought it was bad business decision? Well, evidently, they do too. Nintendo clarified today over at IGN that classic Nintendo games will not be free. From IGN:

There’s some disappointing news for those expecting these classics to be available for free. Nintendo is planning on pay downloads as being the standard for this download system. There will be many types of services, though, including limited time free downloads. One possibility mentioned by Iwata is free downloads as bonuses for buying new games.

That previous rumor was, well, nothing but a rumor I guess. Like I said before, paying $10 or so a game seems reasonable and will certainly be a nice income earner for Nintendo. I have no idea what the actual pricing will be by the way. I’m just speculating.
