Clocky, Machines and the Idea of Fear

There’s been a lot of talk about Clocky, an alarm clock that hides from you after you hit snooze. It’s a great idea and I enjoy any interaction with machines that makes us rethink that relationship, but I’ll be seriously impressed when I can no longer discern if a machine is hiding from me because it’s following instructions or because it’s genuinely scared.
