Does Tivo (the Company) Not Understand Tivo (the Product)?

Tivo is compelling for two reasons.
- You get to watch programs when you want.
- You get to skip commercials.
And yet Tivo, the company, is clearly doing everything in it’s power to shove more commercials into your day.
Tivo subscribers pay a monthly fee to skip commercials. I can’t imagine they’ll take kindly to having more put in their place. If Tivo wants to add advertising, then they need to drop the subscription fee, but they can’t have it both ways.
