Hipster PDA Template for Apple Pages

I’ve made a Hipster PDA template for Apple Pages for anyone who should find such a thing useful. This is for anyone who has certain cards they carry in their Hipster PDA that are permanently installed, for anyone wanting to carry pictures or charts and also for those who find satisfaction in having things to look nicer (much like using an electronic labeler for your file folders).

  2. Open it in Apple Pages
  3. From the drop-down menu, choose ‘File, Save as Template…’ and Save

Using the Template

Styles selection for the Hipster PDA template

To use the template, simply create a new document and choose the Hipster PDA from My Templates. I have defined seven styles, all of which should be pretty self explainatory. In the footer is your name and contact information so that if you should ever lose a card, hopefully someone will find it and contact you. As an added bonus, this will let you carry around charted data or even pictures. For example:

Printer Settings

This particular template is set up for my Brother HL-1440 Laser Printer (only $85.49 refurbished) which prints quite nicely on 3×5 index cards. It will probably work ‘as is’ just fine for whatever printer you have, provided your printer can handle index cards. If you want to, you can make sure the margins line up with what your printer supports by choosing View, Show Layout. The grey border is the area which you printer can’t actually print on. Adjust margins as needed in the Inspector.

As always, feel free to suggest any improvements or changes.

Update: The link to the template is now fixed. Sorry about that.
