The only control going on is apple making money off the lemmings. How low will apple sink after this fiasco? Maybe they will put the cheap components in the real iPods and take away the few features they put in now to make even more money. The shuffle is a complete joke. If you buy into the idea of a player with no screen and "life is random" you deserve what you get. I hope you enjoy being manipulated and Im sure apple is laughing all the way to the bank. There is no shortage of fools on this planet. The shuffle is a complete waste of money. All you get for your $99 is a few sub par components in an apple cover.I will never consider the shuffle a real iPod.

It would seem you're not alone. After digesting some of the online reaction, it would seem a ton of people use the random setting on their ipod exclusively. Perhaps this is some sort of control freak personality test.

i saw an article about the shuffle earlier today and i have to say, i love the concept. i received an ipod for christmas so i'm not in the market for another mp3 player; i would buy a shuffle if it weren't for that fact.

personally, i tend to hover around the same set/genre of songs in my collection while others are neglected. all i do with my ipod is set it to shuffle. having my player give me all my songs in a random order opens me up to songs i like, yet haven't heard in a while. to me the shuffle is everything i'd want, at an affordable price.
