A copy of EGM hit my mailbox today and the following caught my eye. Is it an April Fool’s Day joke? You decide.
It looks like it’s being developed by Square Enix and is slated for 2008. For the full scoop, go buy yourself a copy of the April EGM and support their well-done scoop, unless of course it’s a joke.

It’s an April fools joke. It says it features 41 nintendo characters, 4=April 1=April fools day.
My friend told me about it and I thought it was real……. until I saw the thing about 41 characters. Hmmmmmm….. 4/1 is april fool’s day. i am not sure to beleive or not to beleive, but when ever I try to tell that it is a fake to my friend, he just says, “OH no!! I saw a picture 0f it”. I just can’t decide…..
Well, I won’t say I think it’s true, but I won’t say I think it’s false. True, EGM is known for their hijinks but I really think it could go either way. I figured out a list of 41 possible characters that could be seen in a Kingdom Hearts environment, and those little shadow beasts on Wii’s new Zelda game look curiously enough like heartless that maybe Square was inspired. It’d sure be a hoot to see but I guess we won’t know for sure until EGM’s May issue, or until next year.
Man I hope it’s a prank! Just think if that evil monstrosity was to become real that would mean out beloved Kingdom Hearts would be nothing but a cheap sell out! Don’t get me wrong I love Mario, but he just doesn’t belong with FF characters. Though one good would come of it…just think Sora in Super Smash Bros. Or even Cloud:)

i went to the website and i cant find anything on it so if u can post a link so i can click on i would be gratefull…i thought i was real till i realized it was the april issue and the jokes are usually pretty easy to find…hey even if its not real maybe square enix will see it and get ideas..

One way to easily find out if this is a prank, is to find the reference art for Sora and Micky.

People at Kingdom Hearts are still working on the redux of CoM and KH II, plus I know I’ve seen that picture of Sora before.
Also, the picure is a hint of fakeness. Sora and King Mickey look flat, while Mario looks more defined and three dimensional.
Kudos to whoever made and/or edited that Mario picture though. Looks really cool.

No that that’s out of the way, I hav mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I would love nothign mor ethan to run around as Sora with either Samus, Link, Fox, or Mario at my side (plus, I’ve already thought up of MANY in-game story possibilities-see the end of my post), but the mor eand more I look into it, it seems to be getting faker by the moment. I think that’s a VERY bad move on EGM’s part; enough people were pissed of about the “Sonic in SSBM” thing, but when you lie about something like Kingdom hearts…you’re gonna be in for a WORLD of hurt. Then again, SE might pick up on this…
Oh, and as for my ideas:
In Metroid: DARk. SAMUS. HEARTLESS. If SE were to make MKH and miss this, I’d have to go to EVERY SE-related forum and call them morons. Also, some Sora/Samus combos would be sweet. Examples: Sora and Samus jump backwards towards each other, put their feet against each other, andpush off in screw attacks in opposite directions. Also, Samus could grab Sora, pull him into the Morph ball, and unleash a MASSIVELY powerful bomb attack.
In Zelda: The Twilight realm and Heartless would just go hand-in-hand, no doubt. Also, it’d be interesting to see what Sora’s suit would look like
In Starfox: How’s about eithe rone heartless-or a big cluste rof them-in the form of a starship? Opportunity for the biggest Heartless EVER right there. Sora’s suit could take on the green, tan, etc. pattern of the Starfox Team’s, a Krystal heartless could form from the bad emotions between her and Fox due to their break-up before Starfox Command. Also, Arwing and Wolfen keyblades would kick ass.
That’s all I’ve got down for now, so if anyone from Square reads this, consider some of my ideas for Mushroom kingdom hearts. And if you guys AREN’T making MKH…then you better get crackin’, lol.

I think that this game is an awesome idea but is still think it is a fake.And another thing mario is alredy connected to FF charecters through Super Mario RPG.

To be honest, you shouldn’t make very many spelling mistakes on a computer, espicially in an enviroment like this. You can take an hour to type out a sentence, and use a Word Document program and Copy/Paste to help. A misspelled word here and there is perfectly fine, happens to the best of us, but when it’s a habit, and on a computer nonetheless, then it’s a bad thing.
And also on Console Fan Boys…It’s just a game system. I would indeed like to purchase a Wii, for not just this possible game, but others as well (See, Sonic). I’d also like an X-Box 360. I just don’t have the money for them right now. I refuse to to save up for a PS3 on the grounds the people at Sony were price gouging, plus the systems are inneffective. They heat up easily.
Again people, this is just a GAME. A game that will be forgotten in the annuls of time, a simple way to past the hours. A wise man once said, “Men talk of killing time, while time is slowly killing them.”
Also, it’s Square Enix/Disney that produces Kingdom Hearts. They’re both indepent contractors, Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft do not have a monoply on the market. Sony probably just offered them more money to make it on PS2, and if I remember correctly, Chain of Memories was produced for the GameBoy Advance before the PSP. The GBA was pretty much the only handheld system around until the PSP, minus it’s earlier counterparts.
Both Square Enix and Disney own the Kingdom Hearts franchise. If Nintendo gives them permission to use Mario and their other characters, then they CAN make it multi-platform, unless one of the strings is that it has to be a pure Nintendo release.
Again, everyone calm down. This might not even be real. No need to insult people over an April Fool’s Joke.

I never said Chain of Memories was made for PSP…I said it had begun production BEFORE the PSP was, so they weren’t able to put it on that, since the GameBoy Advance was the only real handheld system around.

Now let me just say this… I KNOW for a fact this is just another EGM April Fools hoax (after all, they have one pretty much every year). But you have to admit, a Kingdom Hearts game including Nintendo characters would be pretty sweet and terrible at the same time. The pros are that characters like Link, Mario and Samus fit in pretty well (if not terribly) with FF characters like Cloud and Sephiroth (and to a certain extent, Disney characters). But the problem with this is not only how confusing this could make the storyline, but also how hard it would be to be to make the characters really fit in with the style of the game (not only are characters like Pikachu, Kirby and Mario more “innocent” than FF characters, but can you seriously say you’d really rather see Mario wield a Keyblade than someone cooler like Link?). It would be cool to see Nintendo and Square Enix work together to create something like this, but for now, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
P.S. EGM, if you’re reading this then give up the cruel (yet obvious) 4/1 jokes already!

k so ppl just to let u know that if another handheld game is made for the KH series it will probably be only for psp, bc the only reason it was put on nintendo’s handheld system was bc there was no other handheld system to put it on, plus the creaters havn’t decided yet weather they r making a KH3 yet ,and if they do the creater of Kingdom Hearts, Tetsuya Nomura, has already announced that he will no longer be making PS2 games, so in other words, if he makes any more games, they will be only for PS3…and they hav’t decided yet weather they r making a spin off from the KH series or weather they r just going to continue it, so… AND! Ok,it is a april fools joke and it aint gonna happen, But i disagree with Teh Evil Spork, dont know if their still posting here. But,true disney and SC own KH1, 2, Com,FM1, FM2, ect. ect. But look at other games, there are several games, one of the NBA stree ones for example, witch was released on multiple platforms. 2 of which were the PS2 and NGC(nintendo game cube) and on the NGC version, you could use mario, luigi, ect. ect. Disney and SC could release a Wii exclusive game.
Anyway. for those of you who are obsessed with certian consoles, each has their ups and downs, PS3 has its shitty backwards capability and easily overheats. X-Box has its easily reached ‘3 rings of death’ wich in some cases can be fixed, but usualy kills ur system. and the WII is lacking in number of games, is very hard to find,still, and Gitaur (srry for mis-spell) Hero 3 is impossible to find. but they all have flaws. KH3 is already CONFIRMED to be on PS3 and XBOX360, but i think if they released it on the WII, it would be sweet, because it would be like LOZ:TP where the remote controls sword, and certian movements make combos.
But god, if the MKH was real…. Imagine the Link and Sora Combos.
And when you think of it, you could probably easily switch the disney characters and main KH characters with nintendo characters

well if it was made, it would be difficult determining who the main character would be, Mario or Sora, since almost all mario games like in the rpg sections you HAD to keep him and since Sora also has to be kept that only leaves one character to be optional (unless they do a final fantasy 6 and have four people per group) .

Any One who is reading this im telling you now that there is no Kh Mushrrom plus there will be 3 new KH games coming soon they are so cool yet they have there ups and downs one is for Ds one for PSP and one i think is for your phone but idk about that one yet. If you have a Ds and your a fan of KH get the game for Ds it is so so so cool it has roxas and Org. 13 in it its all about Org. 13 and Roxas and a mysterios new member of Org. 13 it rocks so check it out!
