Nintendo to Offer Classic Games for Free

When Nintendo announced at E3 that the Nintendo Revolution would play the last 20 years of Nintendo games, I imagined we would be paying 10-15 dollars a game. It would be a boon to Nintendo’s bottom line and I would certainly be happy to pay a reasonable price to play the classics.
Well, it would seem Nintendo has a different plan as it looks like Nintendo will offer up it’s classics for free. This seems like a bad business decision, but there’s still much we don’t know about this system. As a consumer and someone who grew up on the NES, I can’t say I mind and it makes their next console a must have for me.
I still hope Nintendo opens this up for 3rd party publishers to sell their old games. Consumers would certainly like it and the publishers wouldn’t mind making money on games finished years ago.
Correction: Nintendo Classic Games will not be free.

I hope you can play the old games over the internet.
You are so dead.
Except when we play Contra, then I’ll need you alive.
