Speed Problems with TivoToGo Update?

It would seem more and more people are noticing speed problems with the TivoToGo update. Although I have noticed my guide loads a bit faster, all of the other menus seem slow to appear on the screen and channel changing is a bit more delayed. It’s not crippling, but it’s certainly irritating.
Other people seem to be having a more difficult experience and it sounds like Tivo is aware they have a problem. Vince left this comment on my TivoToGo First Impressions post.
Has anyone mentioned the significantly delayed channel changing that came along with the TiVoToGo upgrade? I called TiVo support and was told that they are aware of the channel changing delay that accompanies the upgrade and apologize for the inconvenience; however, channel changing or surfing has never been a priority for TiVo. If a fix does not come soon, I will have to seriously reconsider my TiVo subscription. Currently it is taking 11 seconds to change the channel after the pixilization and “jumpy” graphics cease.
Eleven seconds is pretty awful and certainly different than what I’m seeing. It must be on a certain percentage of boxes with hardware different than my own unit, but how many?

Thanks for posting my comment. It seems TiVo is aware of the problem, as indicated on their message boards. They state that the problem is only being seen in subscribers with digital cable boxes. Subscribers with regular analog boxes or no box at all are not seeing any difference in their channel changing speed. What is disconcerting about the problem is that TiVo is not quick to fix the problem stating, “channel changing or surfing has never been a priority.” They are looking at what they can do to address the problem in “future” upgrades. I call on all subscribers to call TiVo to address this problem and bring visibility to this issue.
