Vazu Click:
Send the Web to Your Mobile Phone

Vazu Check

Vazu, a company near and dear to my heart, has released something I’ve been anxiously awaiting: Vazu Click. It’s a tiny plugin for Internet Explorer that does two very cool things:

  1. You can send a phone number on any web page as a contact to your mobile phone
  2. You can highlight any text on any web page and send it to your phone

The download is only 628k, so give it a shot. It’s all done over your cellular network, so you don’t need any cables. In short, it’s very very cool. You don’t have to take my word for it, you can read about Vazu in USA Today and many other newpapers that picked up the AP story about Vazu.

I should note that I sweated out code with the guys at Vazu for 15 months getting Vazu Contacts up and running and pushed very hard to make Vazu Click a reality, so my opinion of Vazu’s products and the people who work there is not exactly unbiased. Hell, these guys got me an ipod for my birthday. (No kidding.) I’ve moved on to another project these days, but I keep in close contact when I can as they were not just co-workers, but friends.

My thanks and admiration to Steve for putting in the code sweat to make an idea in an email come to life on the screen. We are all (very nerdy) rock stars.

Update

If you have any technical support questions regarding Vazu services, you should contact them at help@vazu.com. I’ve received some support questions via email, but you’re much better off asking the current staff at Vazu. They’re quite fast and very helpful.
