Windows Vista is Slower Than XP, a Downgrade for Gamers
Shouldn’t the new version of an OS run better than the five year old version? Techgage decided to do a comparison of game performance for Vista and XP and it looks like Vista runs games slower than XP does. In many cases, it’s a dramatic downgrade.
The short of it? If you’re a PC gamer, stay away from Windows Vista for the time-being.

Toeing the party line, I see.
You’re not saying that Microsoft sucks are you?
Nah, Microsoft doesn’t suck. In fact, I’ve got lots of good things to say about the new Office in an upcoming post. I’m also a fan of Xbox 360. But, to be specific, Vista is a disappointment to say the least. So is Zune. Ok, yeah, Zune does suck, but I’d hate to have that reflect on the whole company. It’s like that crazy uncle who wears that awful sweater with the reindeer on it. He sucks, but you should let that reflect on the whole family.
Plus, I got friends there.
Windows Vista has really disappointed me. When I tried to install Visual C++, VB.net I was told to install Windows XP. How can I do that if I now have Windows Vista. The font on my screen just became too big and when I tried to download the VGA drivers I failed because of some incompatibilty error. I also receive the same error when I try to run my Symantec Antivirus. It complains of incompatibility. I am so frustrated and now considering downgrading to Windows XP but I am reading on the Q & A segments that you will be formating the drive!!! Surely this is ridiculous. I thought that its very simple, you just downgrade gracefully without losing your data.
I’m soon going to be purchasing a new computer with Vista (Home Premium). Is it possible to install XP as a dual boot?
Yes, it is possible to dual boot. Its just simple. First make sure you have at least 2 partitions. Then make sure you have at least 40gb (for vista boot) and 20gb (for xp boot). Make sure you install the Xp OS first. Then just install Vista on the other existing drive and verifying that you have AT LEAST 40 gb of free space otherwise u’ll experience a heavy load of suttering and very long load times.
Brand new Lenovo X60. Top of the line, 7200rpm drive and 2Gig of ram. Vista professional. Thought it would be lightning faster than my IBM A31p notebook which is almost 4 years old running XP pro. Wow was I wrong. Forget playing WOW with it (it really sucks), everything takes longer… very sluggish… hides dialog boxes (in the new Office suite) and is a huge disappointment. I’m sure it’s a great upgrade for Microsoft Stock Owners…. Amazing what a monopoly and a franchise does. New stuff comes out which isn’t even marginally better, makes more money for the monopoly which will stop supporting the old one, and still the same bloated system - because they have to protect the franchise.
4K down the drain….
Oh… p.s…. Some of your software won’t run on it (Norton 10pack), WOW, etc.
