Honestly, I'm not as much of a nerd as you, and there aren't many differences I notice between IE and Firefox. The reason I use Firefox is tabbed browsing. My job requires me to view several websites as I prepare for my day ahead... tabbed browsing is a real timesaver. That, and I don't know if this is anecdotal or what, but it seems that shit loads up faster in Firefox. That is all. Macs are still for assholes. Me love you long time.
