Safari Gets an Upgrade to 1.3

Along with Mac OS 10.3.9 update comes an upgrade for Safari from 1.2 to 1.3. The fantastic news is that Safari 1.3 gets most of the improvements seen in Safari 2.0 that is shipping with Tiger, including rendering pages the same way. As a result, there is no need to worry about testing your code in both 1.3 and 2.0. Note that Safari 2.0 in Tiger gets to take advantage of all the performance enhancements in Tiger including the loveliness that is Core Image.
Safari 1.3 also includes better page load performance (35% faster), better Javascript performance and all sorts of goodies for Cocoa developers. Check out a larger list of Safari 1.3 changes over at Surfin’ Safari.
Much thanks for Dave Hyatt and company for making this available to OS 10.3 users. It makes life so much easier for us web dev types.
